Joel Embiid was at his scintillating best in the last game as his game-high 42 points and 18 rebounds helped Philadelphia 76ers beat Phoenix Suns 132-127 at Talking Stick Resort Arena.

Much of Embiid’s points came in the first half as he became the first player since 2007 to rack up 30 or more points before the first game.

In fact, Philadelphia scored 72 points against 49 from Suns before the interval and looked out-and-out favorites. However, Phoenix came out like wounded animal and scored an incredible 78 points in the last two quarters to rattle the visitors.

Dallas Mavericks:
Dallas Mavericks have been blowing hot and cold this season and there’s no consistency whatsoever in their performances. The last game is a perfect example of that as they comfortably put aside Charlotte Hornets last time around.

Dallas won 84-122 on the road and registered their biggest win of the season. The win pulled them above Utah Jazz and with a 18-19 record they are now 11th in the Western Conference, four games away from 8th placed Los Angeles Lakers.

There form is still a big issue for Rick Carlisle as Dallas have hit a rough patch of sorts after winning just three times in the last 11 games coming into their next encounter against Boston Celtics.

Joel Embiid – Unbelievable and Sixers’ best player on any given day. Though he is a doubt for this match, we have selected him in our special players’ segment. He is too good a talent and if he plays, Sixers will be a different animal. The 24-year-old is racking up 26.9 points per game and he is the only player to average in the 20s for Sixers this season.
Jimmy Butler – Missed the last game with an injury but we have him in our player segment just because he is too big a talent not to mention here. If he plays, Sixers are a totally different animal. The mid-season recruit has made the team more formidable and he could be the last piece of the jigsaw. At the moment, the former Minnesota Timberwolves man is dropping points at 18.1 per game.

Dallas Mavericks:
Luka Doncic – Mavericks managed to pulled a scalp when they defeated Oklahoma City Thunder. The 19-year-old made the difference as he scored 25 points in the match. The Slovenian is racking up 19.5 points per game.
Harrison Barnes – The other stalwart in Dallas Mavericks’ roster is Barnes. The former Golden State Warriors guard is dropping 18.5 points per game this season.
