Cleveland Cavaliers host Boston Celtics in the crunch game-3 of the Eastern Conference finals at Quicken Loans Arena on Sunday. The Cavs are down 0-2 in the series after Greens outplayed them in the first two games and now face an insurmountable looking task of winning at least 4 of the next 6 games to qualify for the NBA finals for the 3rd straight season.

Celtics won the 1st game of the series 108-83 and this was only the 2nd such instance that LeBron James lost an NBA playoff match by 25 or more points. He also had a rare bad outing, scoring just 15 points in that game which was well short of 34 points- his average in the playoffs this season.

While in the 2nd game, things did improve a little bit as Cavs won the 1st two quarters and were ahead by 7 points at the interval. But a 2nd half meltdown saw Cavaliers scupper their lead and advantage and the Greens blew them away once again as they outscored James and company by 20 points in that period, eventually winning the match by 107-94. But James had a monster of a game as he racked up another triple-double, scoring 42 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds.

But not everything is doom and gloom for the Cavs because the next two games will be played at Quicken Loans Arena, Cavaliers’ home where they have played excellent this postseason. They are on a five-game winning streak at home, losing just once in the playoffs this season – in the first game of round 1 against Indiana Pacers.

At home and in the last 5 games, the Cavaliers are outscoring their opponents by at least 10 points, shooting fairly better than on the road – .488 from the field, .371 from beyond the arc and .806 from the foul line. Also, they haven’t allowed the visiting team triple-digit score in four of the last six home games. So expect a better outing from the Cavaliers’ players in this game.
