CHI vs GSW Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:
The reigning NBA Champions will be looking to extend their winning streak in NBA when they host Chicago Bulls at Oracle Arena, in Oakland, on Saturday morning (IST).
Golden State Warriors:
The Dubs didn’t need both Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant to play at their full potential in the last game. Because it was the day of another superstar to come good. His contribution often goes under the radar such is the standard set by both Durant and Curry in NBA. But not in this game.
Klay Thompson was at his devastating best as he dropped a game-high 43 points and helped Golden State Warriors end their home skid with a 122-95 win at Oracle Arena.
Steve Kerr’s men won all the quarters, took a 12 points lead into the break. But as is the case with them, they were out of sight in the 3rd quarter, winning it 33-19 to end visitors’ lingering hopes of making a comeback.
Stephen Curry added a double-double, scoring 14 points and 14 assists, while Kevin Durant added 24 points to his team’s efforts. The former NBA defensive player of the year, Draymond Green dropped a double-double as well as he had 11 rebounds and 10 assists in the match.
But there were more good news for Steve Kerr as DeMarcus Cousins is nearing his full fitness and is expected to join Warriors next week. And that is a warning sign for other teams as a healthy Cousins remains one of the best players in NBA on any given day.
Chicago Bulls:
Chicago Bulls fell to their fourth consecutive loss against Portland Trail Balzers, this time going down 124-112 at Moda Center.
The Bulls (10-31 so far this season), however, were just five points adrift of their opponents in the 2nd half. But Portland blitzed after the break and pulled clear by a massive 19 points to ease to the victory. This was Portland’s third consecutive win, five in the last six. While Bulls have now lost five straight games.
The Bulls had no answer to Blazers’ bench which made the difference in this game. If we look at the numbers, Chicago had 71 points scored by the first five against Portland’s 68. It was the 2nd unit which failed and passed the respective teams.
Regular Season Record-
Golden State Warriors: W-27, L-14
Chicago Bulls: W-10, L-31
Players to watch out for:
Golden State Warriors:
Kevin Durant – The former Oklahoma City Thunder has achieved everything in his career. And that means he is too good. He is the two-time NBA finals MVP. He is Kevin Durant and is racking up MVP calibre numbers. This season, his average is shooting above Stephen Curry, 28.6 points per game to be precise. The former Oklahoma City Thunder has that unique ability which can change the face of the game.
Stephen Curry – Dropped a double-double and was outshone by his splash brother Klay Thompson who dropped 43 points in the last game. But Curry is somebody in Warriors’ roster who can outperform even Durant on a Basketball court. Arguably the best ever shooter NBA has ever seen, the 30-year-old is racking up MVP calibre numbers this season, 28.5 points per game.
Chicago Bulls:
Zach LaVine – The young prodigy is accumulating very good numbers for Chicago Bulls this season. His team is struggling for results but his performance has been consistent. The 23-year-old is dropping 23.5 points per game this season and he remains the only player to average in the 20s for Bulls this season.
Lauri Markkanen – He is in very good form in the last 10 games or so. The 21-year-old power-forward has scored is racking up 17.0 points and a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game this season.
Kris Dunn – Another player who needs a mention is Kris Dunn. He missed the first 27 games of the season with an ankle injury but is back now. The 24-year-old is going for 13.9 points per game.
