How both the teams fared at the 2019 FIBA World Cup?
Canada:
Nick Fury headed to China with a roster almost without all of its NBA talent. To make matter worse, Canada were placed in perhaps the toughest group at the World Cup, along with the talented Lithuania and one of the pre-tournament favorites Australia.
So the writings were on the wall already for the North American side even before the team touched down in China for their World Cup campaign.
The 1936 Olympic Gold medalist lost 92-108 to the Aussies in the first game, following another defeat against Lithuania in game-2 as Nick Fury’s men fell flat in a campaign-ending 69-92 loss.
Senegal:
Senegal were the fourth-favorite to qualify from this group. The enormity of the task at hand was quite evident from Senegal’s 47-101 defeat to Lithuania in Game-1, with the 54-points gap a clear indicator of the huge gulf between them and the world’s top teams. Brushed aside. Never in the game.
Moustapha Gaye’s men showed much-improved performance in game-2 as they ran Australians close in the 81-68 defeat.

- Hardly any head coach can do without so many talented players.
