The post-season starts now, in the mid of April. All the hard work and sacrifices made by players and the staff leads up to this point; the playoffs. It’s a brutal part of the campaign where not only the fittest survive, but the talent and the temperament can take far and beyond.

But for these two teams, the post-seaosn started a bit early. For the reason that both Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers long locked their position on the table. The Greens finished the regular season at 4th and Pacers a place down at 5th in the Eastern Conference.

So both the teams knew that they would be facing each other in the first round of the playoffs. Therefore in a sense, they had plenty of time to prepare for this battle.

The Greens will be hoping to put the inconsistency of the regular season behind when they start the series. They have had a pretty average regular season by their own standard and expectations. But the roster is good enough to withstand the demand of the post-season.

Indiana Pacers meanwhile managed to survive the absence of their best player Victor Oladipo who hasn’t featured since suffering an injury in January.

Believe it or not, Pacers finished with the same record 48-34 which they managed last season as well.

Boston Celtics:
Kyrie Irving – Missed the entire playoffs last season as Boston Celtics were undone by Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference finals. But he is healthy and going strong. The Greens are one of the favorites for the glory and Irving of the biggest reasons behind that opinion. The 2016 NBA champion is racking up 23.9 points per game this season.

Jayson Tatum – One for the future but an indispensable part of Boston Celtics’ current roster. From scoring points to provide assists to his teammates, the 21-year-old does everything on the court. He is averaging 15.9 points per game.

Indiana Pacers:
Bojan Bogdanovic – With Victor Oladipo out with injury, somebody had to stand up and take the mantle. Luckily for Pacers, Bojan Bogdanovic is having one of the best seasons of his professional career. The 29-year-old is averaging 18.3 points per game, while he has scored at 20.7 points per game in the last 10 matches.

Domantas Sabonis – Scored 15 points in the last match against the Pistons. He normally features from the bench but more often than not has a good impact on the game. He almost single-handedly beat Oklahoma City Thunder just a few weeks ago. The 22-year-old is averaging 14.1 points per game.
