BKN vs MIA Dream11: NBA is a weird league with the ups and downs we see on a regular basis. This is a tricky league where you can see fortunes turn around at any time. This is a league where each team has to play 82 games. The East has grown this season and there is no doubt that we have not seen a more challenging East for a long time. And as we speak about it, the Eastern Conference teams in Brooklyn Nets and Miami Heat will clash here in a cult classic match-up.
The Nets have derailed this season and they have continuously found themselves in dire straits. However, fortunes may change with the return of Kevin Durant, the team’s heart and soul. Durant will stabilize the scoring end and his all-around toolkit usually translates into a win. There is no doubt that Brooklyn needed him.
On the other hand, the Heat hasn’t depended on just one face all season. Their versatile lineup has been able to claw wins after wins and their effort deserves a large number of plaudits. They lost to the Bucks on a buzzer beater but even after that loss, they remain at the peak of the Eastern Conference.

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis
Nets: Durant can spark them but can they make a deep run in East
You have to believe that the Nets will be highly strong once Durant returns. However, I have some doubts about their chances to make a deep run this season. The biggest reason for that is the growth of the Eastern Conference that I have harped on about for the last few months. This growth indicates that the Brooklyn Nets have their work cut out with a lot to catch up on. They were at the top of the rankings in the East whilst Durant was healthy but as soon as he departed that completely lost the grip on the matters and right now are clearly in a tough situation. With 19 games remaining, a 13/14 winning run can help propel them in the top seven but a top-six spot is frankly out of their grasp.
But yes, you have to also realise that you never know which team can turn it around this season. And when you have a player like Kevin Durant, the opposition’s playing style can change and their confidence can shatter. While this is true, in a more realistic analysis, there is a rare chance of such a low seed going all the way because the other teams have built better chemistry till now. The Heat looks deeper than the Nets and even if they get Irving back and Simmons in the fold, they didn’t have enough time to develop substantial chemistry. This is why I believe that the Nets will suffer a First Round exit even if they make it through the Play-in tournament.
Heat: They have to keep building on
There is one squad that has been relentless throughout the season despite facing multiple injuries. When Butler and Adebayo went down, it looked like the Heat may suffer the same fate as the Nets but this is where coach Eric Spoelstra used his experience, lived through intense shuffling of lineups, and worked out some combinations that may not look like strong ones but got the job done. He received huge help from hustling guard Kyle Lowry, who turned around the team’s season with his incredible leadership skills. PJ Tucker elevated the defense but the Heat’s bench has been my favorite all season long, no matter whose number got called, the response was electric. Remember when Omer Yurtseven was dropping 10+ points and grabbed 10+ rebounds!
And Yurtseven has been not even playing much these days, which is a testament to the team’s depth. Well, Yurtseven is not playing much because when you have Bam Adebayo, it is a tough two-way recipe for the oppositions. Butler has been doing his thing and we know what he is capable of but it is surely the rise of Tyler Herro that has been a huge difference-maker, someone who has led the team in scoring time and time again. Duncan Robinson has been a tad inconsistent but forms a great backcourt alongside Lowry. Dedmon and Martin form great Forward combinations off the bench and Max Strus can expand the floor through their shooting.
