PHX vs DAL Dream11: The NBA Regular Season has begun and the stakes are as usual high. While some teams will look ahead to next year’s draft in hopes of landing Victor Wembanyama and also keeping an eye on Scoot Henderson. But for many teams, the goal is simple; the title or at least getting close to it. And that is what Dallas Mavericks did last season after reaching the Conference Finals, only to be downed by the Warriors. Here, they will play another title aspirant in Phoenix Suns.
The last time these two met was during the West Semis and the Mavericks won in seven games where they handed a thumping loss to the Suns on their own home floor. The Suns have had some chemistry issues lately with Deandre Ayton sounding off on his long-term prospects with the squad, but nonetheless, they have built a solid unit. Which team is going to finish further this year as the Suns look to avenge the Game Seven Loss that occurred just five months ago.

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis
Suns: Big expectations from them
The Suns made it to the 2021 NBA Finals and followed it up with the best record in the league, becoming the winningest squad last season. However, their run was cut-short during the West Semis by the Mavs in a hard-fought series. Despite having much-loaded roster than the Mavs, the Suns were unable to pull through as they couldn’t contain Doncic. But it was much more than that, Chris Paul was struggling big-time in that series and when he is off his game, the results can be on the losing side.
This doesn’t mean that they are solely dependent upon Paul. With Booker, they have one of the best scorers. Mikal Bridges is a terror on the defense while Deandre Ayton is one of the best back-to-the-basket players. Losing Jae Crowder hurts but the team can use Cameron Johnson in a two-wing set-up. The bench looks decent with Shamet once again making case for major minutes. Cameron Payne, Dario Saric, Torrey Craig, and Bismack Biyombo make for a decent set-up but the Suns will have their work cut-out again.
Mavs: Will they repeat last season’s heroics?
Steadily, Luka Doncic is getting to the title and the Point Guard is having the dream run of his career. He is a crafty player who can single-handedly change the complexion of a game and his game is well-suited to the Playoffs setting. That is why, he led a bunch of non All-Star players to the West Finals and proved to be a threat nightly. The Mavericks will come into this season without an All-Star apart from Luka Doncic but Center Christian Woods seems to fit well in the current unit. He just has to get open and he is bound to get the ball.
A lot will ride upon how Spencer Dinwiddie performs as he has the tendency to disappear at times. Reggie Bullock and Dorian Finney-Smith are defensive studs in the Forward positions and can both cover perimeter and also exchange contact with physical players. The team did lose Jalen Brunson who was a key part in last season run but they will hinge upon Christian Wood to keep the win train ticking. The bench does look solid with Tim Hardaway, JaVale McGee, Josh Green, and Maxi Kleber. Can the Mavs pose a nightly defensive threat though?

NBA Scores, Fantasy Basketball Top Picks
Luka Doncic(DAL)
Luka is one of the best players in the world and he can pump in a large number of poitns, rebounds, and assists. The MVP candidate will once again be up for a big season and can be in 26+ points, 8-12 assists, and 7-10 rebounds range. He can be selected as a Star/Pro Player in the Dream 11 NBA Fantasy scenario.
Devin Booker(PHX)
Devin is a scintillating talent who can put the ball in the basket in more ways than one can count. I believe he will be in 20-28 points and 4-7 rebounds range.
Christian Wood (DAL)
Wood is a strong scorer and rebounder, who can lift the Mavs to a title time if things go right. I expect the Center to be in 14-21 points and 7-10 rebounds range.
Chris Paul(PHX)
It will not be a surprise if Paul tops the assists mark again and he can also pump in a decent chunk of points. I expect a 14-21 points and 8-13 assists range.
Spencer Dinwiddie(DAL)
Spencer is a strong guard who can score in a variety of ways but his consistency can be an issue.
Deandre Ayton(PHX)
Ayton is a fantastic Center who can get inside buckets, rebound hard and also play tough defense. I believe he will be in 16-23 points, 9-14 rebounds, and 1-3 blocks range.
