Xavier-Rathan Mayes will have to be a big-time player while the United will lay their big hopes on Jordan Caroline. Will United be as effective defensively as last season?

The New Zealand Breakers certainly has defensive issues and they will once again enter with a low rating. Having Barry Browns helps as he brings tremendous scoring skills, but still, their defense is begging for an answer. Jarrell Brantley seems to have a lot of promise and poise whereas the bench looks deep with Timmins, Vodanovich, and Loe. Still, this is a revamped roster, so we never know if the defense can turnaround. The Preseason leg suggested the status quo though.
