They did pin down 48 rebounds but they will need to convert their open shots if they are to make it to the Quarter-Finals.

Things went as expected for Mali as the team was overwhelmed by the concerted Japanese effort. They shot just 25.6% from the floor and were held below 20% from the three-point line. Sika Kone was terrific on boards and the team ended up with 51 rebounds. However, for them to even stand a chance, a lot of defensive efforts and a much more concentrated offense will also be the calling card. Mali can end up losing all their games in the tournament.
