GER vs POL Dream11: FIBA EuroBasket has been in its final stages and this version has thrown up a bunch of surprises. There is no doubt that the intensity level has been right there throughout the tournament but the stakes can’t get higher as we head into the Final and the Third-Place Game. In this third-place battle, Germany will take on Poland.
Germany lost to the Spanish team 91-96 during the Semis despite a herculean 30 points effort by Dennis Schroder. As a result, they will play the Polish team for third place.
Poland finally came down to Earth as they got defeated by the defensively-packed French team, losing 54:95 in a game where none of their players could even score in double-figures.

What a match-up!
Despite losing the last game, Germany’s depth has risen during the tournament. The backcourt has been loaded largely due to Schroder dropping 20+ points regularly with Franz Wagner scoring around 15 a game. Andreas Obst found his outside stroke whereas the bench has gotten it done. In their last game, they gave up 56% field goals, which hasn’t been the norm throughout the tournament. They are not likely to give up these many against the Polish effort.
Poland’s defense was tight until the game against Slovenia but France exposed their holes, burning them both from outside and inside. Poland’s usual backcourt duo of Slaughter and Ponitka which has been accounting for a lot of points also misfired and that meant that the team clapped early in the game. Poland has shown determination lately but it will be difficult here against a much-deeper German team, which means this can be a repeat of the last game.

FIBA EUROBASKEt Scores, Fantasy Basketball Top Picks
Mateusz Ponitka(POL)
Points: 07
Rebounds: 01
Assists: 02
Blocks: 01
After a 20+ points triple-double effort, Ponitka shot 3/10 against France and will look to end the tournament on a high note. I expect a 10-14 points, 7-11 rebounds, and 5-8 assists range.
Franz Wagner(GER)
Points: 15
Rebounds: 03
Assists: 03
Wagner shot just 1/6 from three in the last game but he has been mostly finding his outside stroke while doing a lot of other things. I expect a 14-21 points and 4-7 rebounds range.
AJ Slaughter(POL)
Points: 09
Rebounds: 02
Assists: 02
AJ cooled down a bit in the last game but still racked up three triples, however, much more will be needed here. I believe he will be in 12-17 points and 3-5 assists range.
Dennis Schroeder(GER)
Points: 30
Rebounds: 01
Assists: 08
Steals: 02
After a bunch of rough months, Dennis found his stroke around the middle of EuroBasket and shot an exclamatory 11/17 from the field. I believe he will be in 23+ points and 6-9 assists range. He can be selected as a Star/Pro Player in the Dream 11 Prediction scenario.
Michal Sokolowski(POL)
Points: 02
Rebounds: 02
Assists: 00
Steals: 01
After stringing together 10 points or more in most of the games, Michal cooled down a bit in the last game. I expect a recovering and believe he will be in 8-13 points and 4-6 rebounds range.
Maodo Lo(GER)
Points: 09
Rebounds: 01
Assists: 02
Lo made three triples in the last game and he hasn’t been a bit off his game for the last two games. I believe he will be in 9-15 points range.
Aleksander Balcerowski(POL)
Points: 05
Rebounds: 01
Assists: 01
Aleksander is a sharpshooting big who shot just 2/8 in the last game which is a downer for someone who is usually in double-figures. I believe he will be in 8-13 points range.
Daniel Theis(GER)
Points: 10
Rebounds: 03
Assists: 00
Daniel turned the ball over five times in the last game which isn’t what he usually does, mostly being a rebounding and defensive anchor. I expect a 11-16 points, 8-13 rebounds, and 1-2 steals/blocks range.
Jaroslaw Zyskowski(POL)
Points: 05
Rebounds: 00
Assists: 00
Jaroslaw didn’t follow up a 14-point night with a strong effort and shot 2/7 in the last game. I expect him to be in 6-10 points range.
Andreas Obst(GER)
Points: 15
Rebounds: 05
Assists: 00
Steals: 01
After a lean start to the tournament, Andreas has found his outside stroke, aiding the German effort. I expect a 12-18 points and 3-5 rebounds range.
Aaron Cel(POL)
Points: 03
Rebounds: 04
Assists: 02
Aaron’s production has been decent at best and he isn’t a high-yielding starter. I expect a 4-8 points and 3-5 rebounds range.
Johannes Thiemann(GER)
Points: 06
Rebounds: 02
Assists: 03
Steals: 03
Thiemann is good at reading lanes and can score a decent chunk. I expect a 7-11 points and 1-3 steals range.
Michal Michalak(POL)
Points: 09
Rebounds: 01
Assists: 01
Michal has given some solid minutes off the bench. I believe he will be in 5-10 points range.
Johannes Voigtmann(GER)
Points: 02
Rebounds: 01
Assists: 01
Steals: 01
Johannes is usually a rebound and a defender. I expect a 4-8 points and 4-7 rebounds range.
Aleksander Dziewa(POL)
Points: 05
Rebounds: 03
Assists: 00
Aleksander has given solid production off the bench. I believe he will be in 4-8 points and 2-4 rebounds range.
