CON vs PHO Dream11: The WNBA is soon going to enter the Playoffs terrain and it will be a fun time as we will head closer to the title window. So far, the Regular Season has lived up to its billing and we have seen some superb battles. To continue the great trail, the Connecticut Sun will take on the Phoenix Mercury.
The Sun has twice as many as wins as losses(20-10) and has won four out of their five wins, having another superb season. In their last game, they lost to the Sky 92-95 in OT despite a 23 points performance by DeWanna Bonner.
On the other hand, the Phoenix Mercury has been a shell of themselves compared to the last season after being the Finalists. They have 13 wins and 17 losses, winning three of the last five games. They performed terribly in the last game, losing 69:89 to the Liberty.
The Sun and the Mercury met way back in June when the Mercury defeated the Sun 92:88
Host: Connecticut Sun

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis
Sun are contenders
The Sun looks like a much more viable unit ever since Alyssa Thomas returned with the full flow as she helps push the pace, provides solid rebounding, improves the passing while being tough on defense. Jonquel Jones’ numbers have fallen but she remains a huge isolation scoring threat. DeWanna Bonner remains versatile while Courtney Williams also helps to push the pace. Brionna Jones gives solid inside scoring whereas Natisha Hiedeman has done well. The Sun has a strong defensive unit and the potential to be even better on the offensive side than right now.
Mercury’s poor season
Connecticut has played as well as last season but it doesn’t go for the Mercury, a team that has taken a huge backseat. The absence of Brittney Griner has hurt both the chemistry and the attitude. Despite Taurasi and Diggins-Smith doing their thing in the backcourt, there seems to be an air of dissatisfaction among the whole team. Sophie Cunningham’s breakout season is a victim of a rather dry Mercury season, a team that has looked lost. How will they improve their fortunes or will the current struggle continue?
