Tom Curran to replace Mitchell Starc in IPL 2018

Kolkata Knight Riders have decided to rope in England fast bowler Tom Curran as a replacement for injured Mitchell Starc for the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League.
The franchise had spent a hefty amount of Rs. 9.4 crore for Mitchell Starc, but he was ruled out of the final test between South Africa and Australia due to injury.
Tom Curran made his international debut in a T20 against South Africa in June 2017. Since then, the 23-year-old has represented England in all formats. He made his ODI debut against West Indies and his Test debut during the Ashes.
The South-Africa born represents Surrey in his county and has played over 50 T20s. He has played 7 T20Is for his country.
He has taken 53 wickets at a strike rate of under 20 in 51 matches.
Notably, Mitchell Starc would be missing his third successive IPL.
He last played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in a play-off match against Chennai Super Kings.
