Sunrisers Hyderabad have suffered a blow as their fast pacer Billy Stanlake has been rule out of the IPL 2018 due to a fracture.
The franchise confirmed on Tuesday that the fast bowler fractured his fifth finger on the right hand while fielding against Chennai Super Kings.
The Indian and Australian professional orthopedists have advised him to undergo a surgical reduction and fixation operation for restoring the functioning on the finger, after they looked at his injury. The franchise also told the press that the 23-year old has already flown back to his country for treatment and he would miss rest of the tournament.
Stanlake, who earlier played for Royal Challengers Bangalore last season, has been in impressive form this season while playing Sunrisers Hyderabad. With five scalps to his name in his last four games, Stanlake has partnered well with Bhuvneshwar Kumar well and has stepped up in his absence when the Indian pacer was out with a sore back.
He missed a match in the tournament when Chris Jordan was preferred over him.
Sunrisers Hyderabad is placed at the third spot after their last victory over Mumbai Indians with eight points.
