SRH vs RR Match 6, IPL 2018
Score summary:
RR: 153/5 Rahane 45, Samson 37; Nadeem 2/34 in 17.5 overs
DD: 60/4 (6 overs, target 71) Pant 20; Laughlin 2/20
Match Result: Rajasthan Royals won by 10 runs (D/L method)
In a rain-affected game, Rajasthan Royal defended a revised D/L target of 71 runs against Delhi Daredevils to clinch their first win in the eleventh edition of IPL. Chasing the revised target, DD sent Maxwell and Munro for a quick start but never got going from the outset, losing Munro in a mix-up on the very first ball. Pant joined Maxwell at three but the two could not keep up with the required run-rate and pressure kept building.
Earlier, Delhi Daredevils had won the toss and asked the home team to bat first. Rahane, Samson and Buttler all chipped in with the bat and RR were cruising to a challenging total. When the score was 153/5 after 17.5 overs, it started raining.
The rain washed more than an hour’s play. On resumption at 11:55 PM, it was an inspired bowling performance from Rajasthan on their homecoming. Ben Laughlin was the pick of the bowlers for Rajasthan, giving away only 20 runs and picking 2 wickets.
