RCB vs KXIP Match 8, IPL 2018
Score summary:
KXIP: 155 all-out; Rahul 47, Ashwin 33; Yadav 3/23, Sundar 2/22
In a stop-start batting effort, Kings XI Punjab managed to set 156 run target for Royal Challengers Bangalore after Umesh Yadav ran through their top order. RCB, playing their first match at home, won the toss and invited the visitors to bat first.
Kings XI Punjab got off to a flying start, milking Chris Woakes for 16 off the first over. After a flurry of boundaries from in-form KL Rahul, Umesh Yadav put on a brilliant bowling performance to wreck the Kings batting order. In his second over, he claimed three wickets – Agarwal, Finch and Yuvraj – to take the sting out of KXIP’s batting.
Karun Nair put on a 58-run partnership with KL Rahul to propel the innings, but the duo fell in quick succession. KL Rahul scored 47, while captain Ravi Ashwin made a valuable 33 down the order to push the score past 150. For RCB, Washington Sundar and Khejroliya picked 2 wickets each.
