Kolkata Knight Riders will have to look for an alternate as Australian fast-bowler Mitchell Starc has been ruled out of IPL 11 owing to injury.
The Aussie paceman has been ruled out of the fourth Test against South Africa due to a tibial bone stress fracture in his right leg.
Starc was replaced by Chadd Sayers for the fourth Test and Starc would now be flying home after the series for further injury assessment.
This year, the franchise of Kolkata Knight Riders bought Mitchell Starc for $1.8 million at the IPL auction held in January, but now he would not be able to participate in the cash-rich tournament scheduled to kick-start from April 7, 2018.
Kolkata Knight Riders would be taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore in their first encounter of the eleventh edition on 8 April 2018 at the iconic Eden Gardens at 8 pm.
