Mumbai – Mumbai Indians could not give their fans a winning result against SunRisers Hyderabad, falling short of the target by 31 runs. SRH defended a below-par target to register their fourth win in 6 matches.
Put in to bat, Sunrisers Hyderabad got off to a poor start losing Shikhar Dhawan early in the innings. Kane Williamson and Yusuf Pathan played good hands at the start and in the middle innings. The former played innings of 29 off 21 balls, while the latter also made a patient 29 off 33 balls.
Chasing 119, Mumbai Indians’ innings never got going and were bundled out for 87. Except for Suryakumar Yadav and Krunal Pandya, none of the MI batsmen could get into the double figures. Siddharth Kaul was the pick of the bowlers, returning with figures of 3/23. Rashid Khan and Basil Thampi picked two wickets apiece.
