Put in to bat first, Mumbai Indians lost Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan in the first two balls of the innings. Coming in at 4, Rohit restored the batting prowess partnering with Evin Lewis.

Mumbai Indians skipper batted through the innings and was dismissed in the final over for a well-made 94 off 52 balls – studded with 5 maximums. Lewis made 65 in 42 deliveries, with the help of five big sixes.

In reply, RCB did start off with a fine partnership of 40 runs for the first wicket. Soon after Kock departed, Royal Challengers lost the momentum. Virat Kohli, who made unbeaten 92, did not get much support from others. Krunal Pandya was the pick of the bowlers, returning with figures of 3/28. Bumrah and McClenaghan picked two wickets apiece for MI.
