Kolkata – Kolkata Knight Riders produced an all-round performance to topple over table-toppers Chennai Super Kings by 6 wickets, chasing down the set target with more than two overs to spare.
Youngster Shubman Gill and Dinesh Karthik guided the Knight Riders home, with the former scoring a fluent 57 off 36 balls while the skipper finishing with a breezy 18-ball 45. Sunil Narine also chipped in with 32 runs at top of the order.
Winning the toss and inviting the tourists to bat, Knight Riders pulled things back well in the second half of the CSK innings after conceding 90 runs in the first 10 overs.
Sunil Narine was the pick of the bowlers for KKR, returning with figures of 2/20. For CSK, captain MS Dhoni top-scored with 43 (25) while Raina and Watson also making valuable contributions with the bat.
