Kings XI Punjab announce change of IPL home fixtures

Kings XI Punjab would be clashing against Delhi Daredevils in Mohali. Earlier, the first encounter between KXIP and DD were scheduled in Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi.

All the IPL franchises are supposed their four home matches at their home venue. However, Kings XI, Punjab were granted an exception after PCA (Punjab Cricket Association) requested BCCI to reschedule the League matches for Kings XI Punjab due to some logistical issues.

Now Mohali would be hosting three matches for Kings XI Punjab whereas Indore has four home matches of Punjab in its kitty.

“It is unfortunate that the dates had to be changed so late in the day,” Satish Menon, Kings XI Punjab CEO said.

“However, we need to deal with the external difficulties. We can’t say anything about the unforeseen, but we are really excited by the prospect of starting off in Mohali. After all, at the end of the day, both venues are home to us,” he added.

Schedule of the IPL matches:

The Chandigarh-based franchise would start their IPL campaign on 8th April against Delhi Daredevils in IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, followed by an away clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore on 13th April.

The next matches would again be played at the IS Bindra Stadium against Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad on 15th and 19th April respectively.

Kings XI Punjab would play the next three away matches against Kolkata Knight Riders on 21st April followed by matches against DD and SRH on 26th April.

Punjab fans would witness the next home-fixtures at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore where they would take on Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals on 4th and 6th May respectively.

KXIP will play against RR again in Jaipur on 8th May before playing their next two matches in Indore against KKR and RCB on 12th and 14th of the month respectively. Their last two fixtures will be against MI and CSK, on 16th and 20th May.
