The IPL governing council has responded to the request of Punjab Cricket Association and has decided to reschedule the itinerary of the league matches of the Indian Premier League. Now, KXIP would be playing their first three matches in Mohali, scheduled in April and last four games in Indore, scheduled in May due to the logistical issues.
As per the revised schedule, KXIP will play its fixtures on April 15, 19 and 23 in Mohali, which were earlier scheduled in Indore. Indore would be hosting four home matches for Kings XI Punjab. The PCA had earlier requested the BCCI to reschedule the home matches of the Chandigarh-based franchise citing that the Chandigarh airport will remain closed from May12-31 due to some renovation work.
“The team would have encountered logistical difficulties has KXIP played their home matches in Mohali,” acting BCCI president and IPL governing member CK Khanna told PTI. “So, the IPL governing council has decided to swap the dates of the matches and Indore would now host all matches in May,” he added.
