Impressed by Markande’s performance: Rashid Khan

Though Mumbai Indians lost their second match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mayank Markande yet again maintained his consistent performance and impressed everyone with his spells.
The MI pacer, who now wears the purple cap for dismissing the likes of Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni, Deepak Hooda, Wriddhiman Saha, Shikhar Dhawan, Manish Pandey and Shakib Al Hasan so far in two games.
Rashid Khan, who was awarded Man of the Match award for returning with figures of 1/13 also praised Mayank Markande who has taken seven scalps in his two outings.
“He is wonderful to watch. I watched him bowl in the last match as well and I was impressed,” he said.
“It is very important for leg spinners to bowl right line and length and that’s exactly what he did,” he added.
Bought for Rs. 20 lakh, the 20-year old has been an asset to the team.
MI bowling coach Shane coach, Shane Bond said, “He is carrying his form from the nets and practice into the games.”
“We’ve discussed a lot about the length he bowls. We know he is difficult to pick and that is why he is bamboozling the players at the moment,” he added.
Talking about his consistency, he asserted, “His consistency is his real strength and he has got a great temperament. He has been outstanding for us.”
