Delhi Daredevils skipper Gautam Gambhir has said that the revised DLS target was a difficult one to chase as it led to their loss in the rain-truncated Indian Premier League match against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday night.

Rajasthan Royals was making a comeback on their home ground after being suspended from the IPL for two years at Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Delhi were given a target of chasing 70 runs in six overs through the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method in a rain-truncated match but fell short of 10 runs to taste their second defeat in the IPL.

“It was a beautiful wicket to bat on, we thought we could contain them to 170 and it was chaseable, especially with dew coming in,” he said after the match.

“We were very happy with the first innings, but scoring 71 in six overs was tough. In these formats of the game, it is difficult,” he added.Sanju Samson, who was the man of the match for his 22-ball 37 expressed his happiness on his team’s first win in the tournament.

“Feel really amazing. We wanted to win at our home ground and it feels great to win our first game,” he said.
