Pune – In one of the best bowling spells of the IPL 2018, Lungi Ngidi scripted Chennai Super Kings’ win against Kings XI Punjab, to give his team all-important momentum heading into the playoffs.
Chennai Super Kings won the toss and asked the visitors to bat first. The South African fast-bowler made the most of seaming conditions to send Kings XI openers packing in no time. The visitors could never recover but a late surge by Karun Nair pushed them over 153.
In reply, CSK lost their star performer Ambati Rayudu early. However, Raina played a cool hand and batted through to guide his team home. Deepak Chahar, promoted in the batting order, scored a breezy 39 off 20 balls. Ankit Rajpoot was the pick of the KXIP bowlers, returning with figures of 2/19.
