Mumbai Inidans experienced a big blow when Archer sent back skipper Rohit Sharma in the next ball for a duck. However with Evin Lewis standing at the other end and contributing 60 of 42 deliveries, MI posted a target of 169 for Royals to chase in the alotted overs.
For Royals, D Arcy Short once again failed in providing a good start and went back to dugout on the fifth ball of RR’s innning. However, the 95 runs partnership between Ajinkya Rahane and Jos Buttler for the second wicket was enough for Royals to take an edge over the hosts. Jos Buttler was awarded man of the match for his unbeaten 94 of 53 deliveries.
With this crucial win, Rajasthan Royals now share 12 points with KKR and KXIP while it has become difficult for MI to stay alive in the tournament.
