Deck – The game has a deck of 52 cards, consisting of 13 cards of four-suit rank, such as clubs, hearts, spades, and diamonds.

Sequence – It is a combination of consecutive cards of the same suit or may include a wild joker card.

Sorting – arranging of the cards at the inception of rummy to form sets and sequences to prevent mixing.

Rummy Points – Ace, King, Queen, and Jack contain 10 points, while other cards have a value equal to their face digits.

Pure Sequence – the ordering of consecutive cards of the same suit.

Impure Sequence – a sequence is made including a joker or wild card. 

Set –a combination of cards of the same rank. 

Joker Cards and Wild Cards – Joker cards are cards with a printed joker on their face. On the other hand, wild cards do not have printed jokers, but they work as jokers or replacement cards.

Is Playing Rummy Legal in India?

Yes, the rummy card game is legal in India as per Indian rules mentioned in its rule book. The honorable Supreme Court of India announced in 1967 that Rummy is a game of skill for cash and that it does not contain any kind of gambling content.
