Norwich City defender, Jamaal Lewis has been sidelined from the upcoming European Qualifier game against Germany.
It’s being said that Jamaal Lewis did feel a niggle on his right knee during the 0-0 draw against the Netherlands on Saturday. As a result of the setback, Lewis was subbed off by Michael O’Neill after 80 minutes.
Lewis was an integral member of Northern Ireland’s defence as his side won four games on the trot in the early half of the qualifiers. However, just like this time, it was his knee which kept him out of national duty during the October fixtures.
The Standings
Northern Ireland is currently at the third spot in Group S with 13 points on board. Though the Netherlands is just three points away from them at second, the goal difference between the two sides is significant.
Germany currently tops the table with 18 points. With Northern Ireland finding it difficult to cement a spot through automatic qualification, they might have to enter the European Competition through the playoffs.
