The inaugural season of the UEFA Nations League is yet, to begin with, the flavour of the international fixture, and it will start from 6th of September. Football fans are feeling jittery about this because it can add some seasoning to the international friendlies. There are lots of people questioning the importance, and the existence of the league so here is all you need to know about the UEFA Nations League and why it organised at this level.
Why is the UEFA Nations League organised?
It is organised to give a seasonal dose of the international fixture to the football fans as they usually lost touch with their national team. In the world of football, people only talk about the club’s, but now you will get something new to discuss. This leagues motto is to rebuild the structure of International Football and become a bridge from football fans to stay connected with it.
How will it work?
The format allows 55 countries to enter into the regime which will be separated by four leagues (ABCD) their separation will depend on the UEFA rankings from November 2017 after the World Cup Qualifiers ended.
Every League will have a different equation league A and B will have 12 teams while C will have 15 teams and D will have 16 teams. Later on, those four leagues will be split into the group of 3-4 nations to decide the winners.
This is how the nations were distributed among the Leagues.
The season opener is decided to be played between the previous world cup winner Germany and the current champion France.
At the end of the given fixture, top four teams from each league will go up and lower four will be relegated from the league than the top order four will lock horns to get the title.
