FIFA World Cup 2018’s Best Young Player and PSG’s young talent, Frenchman Kylian Mbappe got banned for three matches after being showed a red card by a match official. Mbappe was punished for pushing Nimes player Teji Savanier in their recent encounter.
The match ended in favour of Ligue 1 giants PSG 4-2, but it didn’t look like a good deal for PSG as they have to bench Mbappe for the upcoming three fixtures. It seems like Mbappe grew some frustration with some rough treatment. Mbappe will miss the clash against Saint-Etienne, Rennes and Reims.
Well, not only PSG but Nimes also suffered the loss from this incident where Savanier got the five-match ban for his dismissal. Unai Emery’s successor Thomas Tuchel came to the 19-year-old’s defence that he was reacting to an offensive foul.
Tuchel said
“He was lucky that he didn’t get any serious injury. I want him to stay calm, but in a match like that moreover in an atmosphere like that, it’s not easy. He didn’t hit somebody, he just pushed.”
Mbappe later on issues mea culpa to his fans that he ruined the victory of the team but he said, he would react the same if the incident occurred the same way.
Savainer quashed Mbappe’s this statement, he said, Mbappe should be ready to face more bans or red cards if he didn’t change his way to react to this particular situation in future.
Savainer was asked about the incident, so he stated, he wasn’t able to see him coming. He was surprised when Mbappe reacted like that.
It looks like the heat goes beyond the 90 minutes and after it to the press conference. It is quite a good sign for PSG that Mbappe will be back in the team before PSG would travel to Liverpool to start their Champions League’s campaign on September 18.
