Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has ruled out French international Anthony Martial to feature in the forthcoming game against Arsenal.
Arsenal will be visiting Old Trafford in a league fixture as both teams look to climb up from mid-table positions.
League Standings
United with eight points in six games are currently placed at the 11th spot with eight points.
Meanwhile, Unai Emery’s Arsenal side occupy the eighth spot with 11 points on board.
Manager’s verdict
This is what Solskjaer had to say in the pre-match press conference about Martial, and the rest of the players who may or may not be available.
“I don’t think we’ll see Anthony before the international break,” Solskjaer told the United app. “Luke Shaw is improving so hopefully we’ll see him.
“There might be one or two [back against Arsenal]. Paul [Pogba] was really struggling with his ankle as it was really swollen, so let’s see how that repairs. He got 90 minutes [against Rochdale] but towards the end [of the game] it was sore again. Phil [Jones] will be out until after the international break and you have to count these after every game but I think that’s it.”
Head-to-Head
Manchester United are undefeated in 15 of their last 16 home games to Arsenal in all competitions.
In terms of the last six meetings between the two sides, Manchester United has won three games to Arsenal’s two wins. The last game played at Old Trafford between the two sides ended as a 2-2 draw.
