Manchester United interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed plans for Wednesday’s Premier League encounter against Newcastle United.
SANCHEZ TO FEATURE
Solskjaer confirmed that Chilean star Alexis Sanchez will feature in the fixture. “Alexis has had some great training sessions over the last few days and wanted to be here [against Bournemouth] as well but we’ve had to manage him. He has been out for a month. He will be involved [at Newcastle], yes,” said Solskjaer.
RASHFORD LIKELY TO BE RESTED
Solskjaer also provided a hint on Rashford workload in the last week or so. Rashford picked up a groin injury late in the game and is a big doubt for this match. “I think Marcus would be okay. been working so hard and has been a bit tired. But I think he will be alright [for Newcastle]. I hope so,” said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
On Baily’s replacement
Eric Bailly is serving a suspension after being sent off against Bournemouth, while defenders Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo remain on the sideline with injuries. Man Utd manager is convinced with Matteo Darmian as a back-up for centre back’s role.
When asked if he will only have two centre-backs available, Solskjaer replied, “that’s enough isn’t it? It should be enough with two! We’ll have to look at it, of course, but we’ve got Darmian, who can definitely play centre-back. I don’t think Rojo will make it so it will probably be Darmian as back-up centre-back.”
