Premier League giants Liverpool have had a tremendous transfer market for the upcoming season. Coach Jurgen Klopp was given enough money to solidify.
The midfield was a problem for the team, and now he has reinforced it with Nab Keita and Fabinho. Two emerging players who have excellent game sense in the middle of the park.
It was thought that a replacement for either Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah has to be signed, and he got Xherdan Shaqiri. The Swiss international had a decent World Cup outing. He showed he is ready for a bigger stage and was brought in from Stoke City.
Talks of Loris Karius in the UEFA Champions League final and the mistakes he made were unimaginable. If those mistakes weren’t made, Liverpool would’ve had a better chance against Real Madrid.
To solve this problem, Jurgen Klopp brought in Alisson Becker, a world-renowned goalkeeper who has been on the radar of a lot of big clubs.
This Liverpool team has all the makings of becoming one of the best teams in the world, and the fact they have Jurgen Klopp as their manager is cherry on top of a cake.
However, he has been in this job for three years now and yet to win a trophy with the club.
“You’re right and people will say that it is the next step. We need to be ready for that. I know about the expectations and that’s completely normal. First of all, we have to play the football that gives us an opportunity to win something. We cannot talk about winning something before we start the season.” Klopp said speaking to media in New York where Liverpool is currently training.
He added, “We expect more from ourselves. We will go again for the championship and each kind of cup, but that does not mean I can sit here and we will get it. We have the highest ambitions, 100 per cent.”
