John Terry bids adieu to his professional career

Former Chelsea and England captain John Terry hung up his boots from the professional career. The 37-year-old announced retirement after serving a 23-year long career in the game.

John Terry is an England great he won five Premier League title, four FA Cups and one Champions League along with Europa cup. He also has three League Cups with Chelsea. Terry took to Instagram and shared his thoughts on his friends and family as his biggest support during playing days.

Terry said, it was an incredible 23 years as a footballer, but now I think it is the best time to retire. I made the biggest and best decision to sign for Chelsea. They have been a great team. I will never forget the moments I had in here with these people. This club and especially the fans mean alot.  To me, you are the best fans in the world. I hope I made you proud of wearing the shirt and the armband.

Terry added a special thanks to his team-mates, coaches, managers and backroom staff whom he worked throughout his career.

John thanked Aston fans as well. He said, Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to play a huge role and captain it throughout the season. I am privileged to be in the club and represent the Aston Villa. Right now, I will be looking after the next chapter of my life.

 

John Terry left Chelsea in 2017 and joined Aston Villa. John was offered to join Spartak Moscow, but he denied the offer last month. A media report also said that John Terry might join Aston Villa in a number two coaching staff. Terry earned 78 English caps in his international career. He had been a great support to the English team also. John will be remembered as a centre back great of England football.
