The Highlanders of ISL, North East United FC is close to signing Cameroonian Defender and Nigerian Striker, Joseph Boum and Bartholomew Ogbeche respectively.
Who is Joseph Boum?
Joseph Boum is a 28-year-old Cameroonian centre-back represented Mersin İdman Yurdu and Antalyaspor in Turkish football 1 Lig and Super Lig (2009 and 2015). He rubbed his shoulders with Didier Drogba during Turkish Spor Toto Super League in 2014. He has played in Azerbaijan Premier League, 2017.
Who is Bartholomew Ogbeche?
Bartholomew Ogbeche is a 33-year-old Nigerian forward came from French Ligue1 giants, Paris Saint Germain’s Youth team and started his senior career with them as well. Later on, he played under the banner of Bastia, Metz, Aljazira, Alaves, Valladolid, Cadiz, Kavala, Middlesbrough, Xerez, Cambuur and right now he is playing under Willem II where he has been capped in 38 games and scored 12 goals. His best performance came in between 2014-2016 when he played for Cambuur, where he played in 57 matches and scored 24 goals for the team. Ogbeche made his debut for clubs in 2001 later on, in 2002 he was called to play for his nation. He was capped in 11 matches where he scored three goals for the team. In fact, he was picked to play for Nigeria in FIFA World Cup 2002, but eventually, Nigeria got an early exit from the group stage.
According to Goal.com, they both are in talks with Indian Super League’s most followed club, North East United. Despite being the most followed side of the ISL, North East United hasn’t won a season. They have been a part of the league since its inaugural season 2014, but they haven’t been crowned yet, and this year they may become the new entry in the list of ISL winners so far for which they may need Joseph Boum and Bartholomew Ogbeche. North East United is co-owned by the Bollywood heartthrob, John Abraham who is a football freak and have some stakes in the club as well.
