Panama vs Tunisia – Tunisia scores an own goal and still wins the match

The fourth match of Group G saw two knocked out teams fighting for the third spot as they go back home. The game didn’t have any impact in the group because of these teams have been defeated by both England and Belgium. England defeated Panama 6-1 and Belgium defeated Tunisia 5-2 and all hopes for their world cup was already lost. Despite their terrible performance against teams that are far superior to them but this game was all about equals. Both Tunisia and Panama head into this match for a win and it was certain that this was going to be one of the important clashes for both these nations.
Kick Off
The game kicked off at Saransk as both the teams kept on pressing each other’s defense. However none of the teams could make it unless the 33rd minute when Panama were in the neck of Tunisian defense, Tunisia all had to do a bit nervous and make a mistake. And in the 33rd minute, defender Yassine Meriah got caught in the line of the shot and the ball went back to the Tunisian net, opening the first goal of the game. Panama looked weak on the field but accidental own goal gave them the upper hand in tyhe game as they head to the dressing room with a lead. The score read, Panama 1 – 0 Tunisia.
Second Half:
Tunisia got more aggressive in the second half as they came out of their dressing room. After a couple of changes made on the ground to strengthen their tactics in the 51st minute, they found the second goal of the game by Fakhereedine Ben Youssef and also the equalizer. As soon as the game drew Tunisia knew this time they needed to take charge in this game and with their determination they found their second goal of the game in the 66th minute fromWahbi Khazri to give the lead back to Tunisia.
The game ended at Panama 1 – 2 Tunisia.
