British Pop Star Robbie Williams set the fire on the stage with his one of the best singles “Angels” next to Russian star Aida Garifullina in Europe’s biggest stadium Luzhinki (This stadium also witnessed the curtain raiser event of Moscow Olympics 1980 and taken as the main arena of the Olympics in that particular year). They both have got the loud cheers, later on, Robbie mesmerised the crowd with his another chartbuster “let me entertain you”.

…And the World missed out on witnessing the Black Pearl!
Brazilian legend Pele was set to mark his presence in the opening ceremony, but he ended up cancelling his tickets because of his ill health. He was expected to come to enhance the richness of the talent on the world stage, but Russia missed out his presence in their country. However, the wound got some ice on it when Ronaldo entered the stadium with mascot Zabivaka.
Expectation vs Reality
Just hours before the opening ceremony, it was being projected that around 80,000 fans would attend the ceremony live from the stadium and millions of the fans will watch it through the live broadcast. The expectation went with the reality, and people all around the world watched it to recall their passion towards the game.
