Tottenham Hotspur will be looking for their sixth consecutive win in the Premier League when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Wembley Stadium, in London, on Saturday night (IST).

Out of nowhere, and beyond the grasp of any prediction, Tottenham Hotspur are 2nd in the Premier League as things stand. Only six points behind current leaders Liverpool and a point above the reigning English Champions Manchester City.

After losing the bragging rights of the best team in North-London against Arsenal in which they lost 4-2 at the Emirates Stadium at the start of this month, Spurs have won five games on the bounce in the league for the first time this season. And look how a good winning streak can change the scenario for any team in the league.

Unai Emery’s Arsenal leapfrogged Tottenham in the table with that 4-2 resounding win. But in the last five games, the Gunners have drawn two, lost once while winning twice. That’s eight points out of total 15, while Spurs have bagged all that games could offer in the last five games. And the result is – Spurs are seven points better off than their rivals coming into this weekend’s matches.

Mauricio Pochettino is getting all the praise for the upturn in Sours’ form and profile under his managership. And it’s a long time due.

Though, Nuno’s men are not expected to finish in the top six as both United and Everton have had a poor season up until now, a top-eight finish is well within their grasp.

Injured – Defender Jan Vertonghen (thigh) and Midfielder Victor Wanyama (knee) both have made progress in their rehabilitation but are not expected to get involved in this match.
Also, Mousa Dembele (ankle) and Eric Dier (appendix) remain a few weeks away from returning to the action. While striker Vincent Janssen will be missing the match as well.

Questionable – Right-back Serge Aurier is back in the training. The former PSG defender has been suffering from a groin problem. However, this game may have come too soon for him and he remains questionable.
Also, midfielder Dele Alli was withdrawn at the halfway stage against Everton and wasn’t involved against Bournemouth. He remains a huge doubt for this match.

Note: Son will be unavailable in January as he will be representing his team in the Asian Cup. It means he should start in this game and shouldn’t be the part of rotation we may see in this game.
Talking about that, Moussa Sissoko may be given a rest having used in almost all the matches in the last two months or so. As a result, Harry Winks could be handed a start.
