Team News:
- Despite the European club football in the hibernation mode, the 2019 summer has a lot to offer to football fans. There is a small matter of the UEFA Nations League, while South America’s biggest tournament, Copa America, is ready to engulf us once again.
- Though injuries will always be the unavoidable aspect of the sport, the MLS teams are light on options at the moment as a lot of players have left for the international assignments.

Montreal Impact Team News:
- Former Arsenal wing-back Bacary Sagna exited Montreal Impact‘s 3-0 defeat to Orlando City in the 36th minute due to an ankle injury. He will be missing the match.
- The 36-year-old joins Orji Okwonko (Leg injury), Ignacio Piatti (knee injury), Mathieu Choiniere (concussion) and Clement Bayiha (quad injury) on the sideline.
Players leaving on International duty | Possible Ins and Outs:
- The versatile Daniel Lovitz, who forced his way into the USA national team last year, received an international call-up, and won’t be available for this game. The 27-year-old wing-back has played every minute of Impact’s 2019 regular season.
Another left-back leaving is Finnish Jukka Raitala.
Replacement: Homegrown Daniel Kinumbe.
The 20-year-old is yet to feature for Montreal this season but he did make the bench in three of the last five league games. Though, head coach Remi Garde may shoehorn another experienced player for this one-off game.
- Zachary Brault-Guillard will be representing Canada in the upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup and is out of contention here.
His replacement: Most probably Rudy Camacho.
Though his natural position is the center-back, the 28-year-old may be asked to play on the right flank considering center-backs Zakaria Diallo and Víctor Cabrera are available for selection.
- Samuel Piette is another Canadian leaving for international duty.
His replacement: His countryman Shamit Shome. The 21-year-old will be starting alongside Micheal Azira and Saphir Taider in the midfield.

Probable XI: Bush (GK), Kinumbe, Camacho, Diallo, Cabrera, Taider, Shome, Azira, Urruti, Browne, Jackson-Hamel
Seattle Sounders Team News:
- South Korean center-back Kim Kee-hee is not 100% fit at the moment and may miss the game.
- While Víctor Rodríguez, who can play on the right wing as well as in the midfield, is listed as questionable due to left hamstring strain. Both the players will be evaluated before the game.
Players leaving on International duty | Possible Ins and Outs:
- If Montreal Impact‘s situation is bad enough to force manager Remi Garde to use his resources to the optimum level, Seattle Sounders are hit even hard by the international break, and their head coach Brian Schmetzer may have to dive deep into his roster to look for every ounce of versatility in his player.
- As many as 10 players are unavailable including their leading scorer Raul Ruidiaz.
- The 28-year-old Peruvian is with the national side preparing for the Copa America. His goals will certainly be missed.
Possible replacement: Will Bruin.
- Forward Jordan Morris has got the USA call-up as well. Though the 24-year-old has been out of the first-team since leaving the pitch in the 53rd minute on May 15th.
- Other players leaving on the international duty are Cristian Roldan, Nicolas Lodeiro, Xavier Arreaga, Román Torres, Gustav Svensson, and Brad Smith.
Possible replacements: Victor Rodriguez and Handwalla Bwana could play behind Will Bruin. But if Rodriguez is not fit, expect Harry Shipp to start the game.
Nouhou Tolo will replace Brad Smith on the left flank, while Saad Abdul-Salaam and Kee-hee are expected to start at the back.
——————————————————————————————————————————–
Probable XI: S Frei (GK), Nouhou, Campbell, Abdul-Salaam, Kee-Hee, Leerdam, Delem, A. Roldan, Rodriguez, Bwana, Will Bruin

Captain Selection:
With so many first-team players missing the match, it’s a chance for others to rise up to the occasion. That said, there is enough quality on both rosters to make it an entertaining affair.
Still, we think, both the managers will be looking avoid a defeat here and may opt against high-metal approach.
That’s why, for the captain option, Kelvin Leerdam looks a good option here. Seattle Sounders‘ right-back is not only a good defender, but his darting runs on the flanks are a joy to watch. He has scored 4 goals this season, 2nd high for the team and has contributed with 2 assists as well.
- Games: 14
- Mins: 1188
- Goals: 4
- Assists: 2
Vice Captain:
Saphir Taider will be a key figure for the home team if they are to get anything out of this match. Considering Sounders’ selection issues here, we back them to at least boss the proceedings in the middle of the park.
Suggested combination:
Goalkeeper: S Frei
Defenders: Leerdam, Diallo, Cabrera, Abdul-Salaam
Midfielders: Taider, Browne, A Roldan
Forwards: Jackson-Hamel, Urrutti, Bruin
