SOU vs TOT Dream11 Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur travel to the seaside to Southampton for the second matchday of the season. Jose Mourinho will want to make amends after Spurs lost 1-0 to Everton on the opening matchday. The Spurs board have seen the warning signs and made two quickfire deals by securing the signatures of Sergio Reguilon and former Spurs man, Gareth Bale, both from Real Madrid. Even though these players aren’t eligible for the game, there is a sense of rejuvenation in the Spurs camp that will be important on Sunday. Tottenham also travelled to Bulgaria for their Europa League qualifiers that ended in a 2-1 win for them, with both goals coming in the last 10 minutes. Southampton also started their Premier League campaign with a 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace, succumbing to a Wilfried Zaha goal. However, the Saints have not had the same lift-up that their counterparts have enjoyed as they got knocked out of the Carabao Cup with a 2-0 loss to Brentford. They will have to fuel their motivation for a win from the sheer will to survive in the Premier League. Ralph Hasenhuttl has completely turned the side around after their embarrassing 9-0 loss to Leicester and they need to carry on that form while forgetting about the first game.

Southampton Team News
Injury Report, Unavailability: Ralph Hasenhuttl has no absentees for the game.
Doubtful: Nathan Redmond had to be substituted off during the EFL Cup game with a knock so it’s unsure if he will feature against Tottenham.
Expected changes: With two back-to-back losses, Hasenhuttl will look to change things up in the lineup with Michael Obafemi or Shane Long replacing Che Adams most probably. Danny Ings will surely start as the main man upfront in this SOU vs TOT Dream11 Team Prediction. Fullback, Kyle Walker-Peters, will feature against his old club.

Alex McCarthy (GK)
Kyle Walker-Peters
Jack Stephens

Who will win today’s match?
Tottenham will be fired up for the game and are likely to win the game. They have a very balanced lineup, especially in midfield with the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in defensive midfield and attacking players like Lucas Moura, Dele Alli, Heung-Min Son and Steven Bergwijn playing behind Harry Kane. After the loss against Everton, Mourinho must have gone back to the drawing board to take a look at what went wrong in order to correct it. Mourinho isn’t the kind of manager to lose back to back games and unless Southampton pull off something incredible, they are not going to be on the winning end. That said, with the start they’ve had, a result against a side like Tottenham will really put out a statement and completely make up for the loss against Crystal Palace. Danny Ings, a Premier League veteran, will cause a lot of troubles to Spurs’ centre-backs and try to grab a cheeky goal early in the game. Southampton can gather confidence from the fact that Tottenham last won a game at the Saint Mary’s was back in 2016. However, the Lilywhites won’t let that bother them as they will fight for that win from the get-go. Check out our SOU vs TOT Dream11 Match Prediction here.

Captain options
Harry Kane – Harry Kane has already got the ball rolling for the 2020/21 season by scoring against Lokomotiv Plovdiv. Spurs had a season to forget last time around and Kane still managed to get 24 goals and 2 assists in 34 games last season. Jose Mourinho will look to deploy him as the target man in the final third. He had an underwhelming game against Everton but will want to make things right against the Saints.
Danny Ings – After a dream 2019/20 season, where Ings scored 22 goals in the league and 25 overall. He has fit perfectly into Ralph Hasenhuttl’s system and at 28 years of age, he has a few more good years left. Despite the slow start to the season, it is only a matter of time before Southampton start winning again.
Heung-Min Son – Heung-Min Son has been a brilliant servant to Spurs all these years and is a reliable player in terms of both, goals and assists. Last season saw him score 18 goals and provide 12 assists which sent him straight to the good books of manager, Jose Mourinho. Playing alongside the likes of Harry Kane, Lucas Moura and Dele Alli, a similar season can be expected from the South Korean.
X-factors (differential picks)
Lucas Moura – The former PSG man kicked off his season with an assist to Tanguy Ndombele which turned out to be the winning goal against Lokomotiv Plovdiv. Despite a poor 2019/20 season, he will look to leave that behind him and start afresh. Jose Mourinho seems to trust Moura over Bergwijn but if he emulates last season’s form, it is only a matter of time before the Dutchman is recalled.
James Ward-Prowse – Captain of the Saints, James Ward-Prowse, has been a faithful player to them for a long time now. He is the entrusted dead-ball specialist and creates a lot of chances for players like Danny Ings, Che Adams and Shane Long. A goal or assist is exactly what he and Southampton need to finally get their season underway.
Dele Alli – After a poor showing against Everton, Alli was taken off at half-time and did not feature against Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the Europa League qualifiers. Mourinho has often called out Dele in training but he only does that to players he has high expectations from. Alli hasn’t had an amazing season since his breakthrough and will look for a renaissance under Mourinho.
