Having missed out on the plane to Russia last summer, Wales will be looking to make amends in time. This is their chance and a golden opportunity to take one step towards that target as Gareth Bale and Co. take on Slovakia in their opening UEFA Euro Qualifiers.

This is Wales’ 2nd game with the first one ending in a 1-0 win over Trinidad & Tobago. Ben Woodburn scored the only goal in that match and played as a striker.
Slovakia will definitely be a step up than their last opponent, and the match will give us further clues as to whether or not Wales are making any progress under Ryan Giggs.
But there’s no doubt that there is a lot of room as Wales’ Nations League campaign was rather average. They won just twice against the Republic of Ireland and lost twice against Denmark.
