Real Madrid have the chance to put pressure on Barcelona in the title race when they host a struggling Girona in the La Liga match at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, in Madrid, on Sunday evening (IST).

But Pablo Machin’s decision to leave Girona in the summer for more adventurous and powerful team Sevilla left a gaping hole within the club’s setup.

Everything is unravelling now, the club is without a league win since November the 25th, leaving the team just 1 point adrift of the relegation zone. The reality is that after the end of this weekend, Eusebio’s team could be in the bottom 3.

Girona:
Injured – Johan Mojica, Aday Benitez, Seydou Doumbia and Marc Muniesa have all been ruled out of this match with injuries, all still injured, meaning manager Eusebio Sacristan does not have too many options at his disposal.
The latest injury setback is playmaker Borja García who was substituted just one minute after the break.
Suspended – Bernardo Espinosa received a red card in his team’s 2-0 defeat to Huesca last weekend, and he will be serving a ban in this game.
