League leaders Paris Saint-Germain will be looking to solidify the early half of their season as they attempt to register their fifth straight win in all competitions against Lyon.

Lyon recently secured a point in the Champions League group stage versus Zenit St Petersberg on mid-week. Meanwhile, PSG ensured a comprehensive win against thirteen-time champions of Europe, Real Madrid.

Lyon:

Sylvio Mendes’ side hasn’t started off in the most ideal manner in the French league as Lyon finds itself at the eighth spot in the table with two wins, two defeats. and a draw.

Lyon had an impressive 2018-19 season with 72  points on board as they fell three points short of second-place Lille.

Joachim Andersen and Houssem Aouar were kept on the bench against Zenit but could be back in the starting lineup.

Youssouf Kone and Thiago Mendes will also be available for selection after getting done with their suspensions.

It will be a shuffle between Lucas Tousart and Jeff Reine-Adelaide as to who comes in midfield.

PSG:

The French capital’s dominant display against Real Madrid signified the quality that Thomas Tuchel has in his locker especially while not having the likes of Mbappe, Neymar, and Cavani in the lineup.

Paris Saint-Germain is on top of Ligue 1 with 12 points on board, keeping them above Rennes by two points.

20-year-old Kylian Mbappe is in contention of returning to the starting lineup after recovering from his hamstring issue.

Edison Cavani is expected to miss the league fixture with Lyon due to a hip injury. Attacking-midfielder Julian Draxler sits out this game due to a knock on the foot.

In the previous six encounters between the two French clubs, PSG has had the upper hand with four wins in contrat to Lyon’s two.

PSG hasn’t had much go in favour of them when they travel to the Parc Olympique Lyonnais,  as they’ve lost two straight away games to Lyon.

Lyon is undefeated in 11 of their last 12 home games in the league.

In terms of star players, Memphis Depay is in good touch this season with four goals and an assist in the four appearances for Lyon.

Moussa Dembele too has made sure to be amongst the goals. Dembele has scored five goals in four games.

With a possibility of Neymar jr. making it to the lineup., it’ll be difficult for the Lyon defence to keep him away from goal.

Angel Di Maria’s sensational brace in the absence of Neymar, Cavani, Mbappe on Wednesday night ensured that the Argentinian can be match-winner all on his own in any given day.

Prediction: 

With Mbappe, Di Maria, and Neymar back in the ranks, it might be too much of a task for Lyon’s defence to handle. A PSG win seems to be on the cards.
