But Tottenham did the unthinkable in the Champions League, beating them 4-4 in the quarterfinals courtesy of the away goals. That was it. The quadruple dream was over. It’s a big failure and the questions have been raised about Pep Guardiola’s tactics in Europe.

However, City can still sweep the domestic titles. They are in pole position to defend the Premier League title, and what’s better than to take another step towards the domestic glory than to do it against Tottenham, the team which killed Pep’s dream of triumphing Europe without the help of Lionel Messi.

City still have a lot to achieve this season. The Premier League remains a priority for them, and they are favorites to win it from here.

Tottenham Hotspur meanwhile are in the midst of a top-four battle. As things stand in the Premier League, they are sitting at 3rd with 67 points, only one point adrift of Arsenal and Chelsea in fourth and fifth respectively.
