LIV vs LU Dream11 Prediction: Liverpool begin their title defence on Saturday against newly promoted, Leeds United. After an exceptional domestic league campaign, Liverpool won their 19th title for the first time in 30 years. Speaking of long waits, Leeds United made it back to the top tier of English football after 16 long years, winning the EFL Championship by 10 points. The element of similarity between both sides is quite striking as Jurgen Klopp engineered something very similar to what Marcelo Bielsa did at Elland Road. Both teams suffered heartbreak last season by missing out on their respective league titles by very little as well. But despite being one league apart, for the most part, Leeds will march into Anfield and play them as equals. Two league winners taking on each other on the first day of the season is as exciting as it gets and both teams will be up for it. Liverpool will fight to maintain their supremacy, while Leeds will fight it out to make a mark and send a message in the league. Marcelo Bielsa could not ask for a tougher opponent on the opening matchday as Liverpool are unbeaten at Anfield since 2017, a record spanning 59 games but that won’t deter The Whites from going for broke.

LIV vs LU Dream11 Prediction Team News, Injury Report, Starting Line-ups
Â
Liverpool Team News: Manager, Jurgen Klopp, has very few injury concerns. New signing, Kostas Tsimikas, tested positive for Covid-19 and will definitely miss the game.
Midfielder, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, sustained an injury which ruled him out of the pre-season fixtures. It remains to be seen if he is fit enough to feature against Leeds but it is unlikely that he will be rushed back from injury. Georginio Wijnaldum remains a doubt because he may get a transfer away from the club with Naby Keita or James Milner potentially taking his place. The trio of Mane, Salah and Firmino pick themselves up in LIV vs LU Dream11 Team Predictions.

Â
Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Â
Bookies have Liverpool to win at a whopping 13/50 and Klopp’s men have a higher probability of winning as they demolished the Premier League in the 2019/20 season winning 32 games and drawing 3. They wrapped up the league trophy with many games to spare and have been a formidable force in Europe for the last couple of years. Liverpool will go into this game as the clear favourites which also invites all the pressure on them. Leeds will go into this with a nothing to lose attitude and try to be a thorn in Liverpool’s way. The Reds waned off towards the end of last season and have not strengthened their squad during the transfer window, except for Kostas Tsimikas who comes in to be the second-choice left-back. They have been in talks to sign Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich but there has been no agreement reached between the two clubs. Leeds United, on the other hand, have signed players who are good enough to play in the Premier League and made changes to their side. Despite this, Liverpool has the stronger side and should ideally win this game quite comfortably.

LIV vs LU Dream11 Teams
Â
Captain Options
Â
Mohamed Salah – Salah is about to begin his fourth year in English football and is yet to have a poor season. He scored 44 goals in his first season at Liverpool, 27 in his second season and 23 in his third season. The Egyptian has been instrumental to Liverpool’s success of late and is almost irreplaceable in the team. Undoubtedly, he will be in the running for the Premier League Golden Boot again this season, which begins at Leeds.
Â
Rodrigo Moreno – New Signing, Rodrigo, will look to take England by storm in his first season at the club. Coming from Valencia, he scored 59 goals and provided 41 assists during his time in La Liga and will want to replicate or better that under Marcelo Bielsa’s guidance. He will be used to rotate with Patrick Bamford but Rodrigo should be the first name on the team sheet against teams like Liverpool.
Â
Sadio Mane – Sadio Mane is the powerhouse of the famous Liverpool front three. He has scored more than 20 goals in his last three seasons in the Premier League, all being with Liverpool. The Senegalese has become one of the best left-wingers in the world since joining Merseyside and he doesn’t intend to stop, by the looks of it.
Â
X-Factors (Differential Picks)
Â
Pablo Hernandez – The 35-year-old Spanish midfielder might be approaching the end of his time at the club but he doesn’t seem to be slowing down. He has 75 goal contributions for Leeds United and also assisted two goals in their previous game. He could be an integral part of Bielsa’s plans in breaking Premier League defences.
Â
Virgil van Dijk – Liverpool’s wall at the back, Virgil van Dijk, is one of the best defenders in the world at the moment, if not the best. Liverpool conceded the least amount of goals in the Premier League last season which was mostly down to him and goalkeeper, Allison Becker. Not only is he solid at the back but is a constant goal threat from set-pieces. He has barely missed a minute of football for the Liverpudlians and they’ll hope for another big season from the Dutchman.
Â
Helder Costa – Helder Costa came to Leeds on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers and the deal was made permanent this transfer window. Bielsa probably has a plan involving Costa, Harrison, Moreno and Hernandez to lead the attack. Costa will be up against Andy Robertson when they face Liverpool which will be quite interesting to neutrals.
