LIV vs ARS Dream11 Prediction: Arsenal makes the daunting trip to Anfield for the second time in 4 days as they take on Liverpool in the fourth round of the EFL Carabao Cup. When the two sides met a few days ago, Liverpool got the better of them, winning 3-1. Unfazed by Arsenal’s opening goal, Sadio Mane, Andrew Robertson and Diogo Jota responded perfectly and got the Merseysiders their three points. The Gunners will feel that the referee was harsh on them with a few decisions that should have ideally gone their way but Liverpool was still far and away the better side and deserved the win. This was Arsenal’s first loss of the season and it will be interesting to see how they respond to this. The last team Mikel Arteta would want to face after a beat will be Liverpool, that too at Anfield. However, Arteta has beaten Jurgen Klopp’s resurgent Reds once this season in the FA Charity Community Shield and will want to replicate that or risk getting elimination from a cup competition. Klopp will be cautiously confident that they can pull off back to back wins but will not take it for guaranteed as Arsenal were one of only three sides that beat Liverpool as they won the league by a mile last season.

Who will win today’s match?
Arsenal is placed at 5/2 to win by Bwin and Liverpool to win at 19/20 for their rematch in the Carabao Cup. Arsenal fell the absence of a proper attacking midfielder with Xhaka and Elneny in central midfield. Arteta will look to start Ceballos in alongside either of the aforementioned midfielders who offers a more attacking and creative outlet for the Gunners. Jurgen Klopp has done well to beat Arsenal during his time at Liverpool and will continue to dominate them but Arteta’s side is no pushover either. They must have learnt from their mistakes in the previous games and will do everything possible to avoid repeating them. Playing Liverpool at Anfield is hard enough, but to play them twice in the same week, away from home is a gargantuan task but that’s not to say that Arteta won’t fancy their chances. Their last game was a little characteristically unbecoming of the Arsenal we have seen in 2020 and should they play with the same fearlessness and organization that they did against some of the other team they’ve played, an upset cannot be written off. Captain options
Mohamed Salah – Despite not registering a goal or assist against Arsenal in the last game, created the first goal for Mane and got them on level terms after going down. He constantly terrorized Tierney on the left flank and is an absolute nightmare to play against on counter-attacks. His goal record speaks for itself and keeping him quiet will be quite a task for Arsenal.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Alexander Lacazette will most likely be dropped after his poor showing against Liverpool which paves the way for Aubameyang to feature in his beloved central-striker spot. Having played under Jurgen Klopp in the past during their time at Borussia Dortmund, the German will know better than anyone the damage that Aubameyang can do if not kept in check.
Sadio Mane – Sadio Mane was the Man of the Match when the two sides met on Monday, scoring Liverpool’s first goal and some brilliant football on the whole. He created space for himself very well and caused problems to the Arsenal defence. However, the Gunners will feel that Mane should have been sent off for elbowing Tierney which would have ruled him out of this game.
X-factors (differential picks)
Diogo Jota – New signing, Diogo Jota, came on to make his Liverpool debut against Arsenal and it took him just 8 minutes to get on the score sheet and seal the game. With Roberto Firmino’s poor form, Jota may get the nod to start up front and link-up with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. He was quite popular at Wolverhampton Wanderers and will now try to win Liverpool hearts with some more massive performances.
Nicolas Pepe – After getting replaced in the lineup by new signing, Willian, Nicolas Pepe will look to fight for his spot in the lineup should he get a start against Liverpool. Arsenal’s most expensive signing, he scored 8 goals, providing 10 assists last season which was good but more was expected from him. This season he has only managed to get 152 minutes over 4 games and will need to do much better to become a regular name in the lineup.
Virgil van Dijk – The Dutchman has changed the dynamic of Liverpool Football Club since his arrival, over 2 years ago. He while look to lurk around the box during set-pieces and score headers like he usually does. Arsenal will have to beware of his towering headers that could change the game in a second. On the other side of the pitch, van Dijk will be up against Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and containing him could be the difference between winning and losing.
