Uruguay Team News:
- The 16-time Continental winners may have won 4-0 in the last game, but the win came at a huge price as key midfielder Matias Vecino picked up a thigh injury which will rule him out of the rest of Copa America.
- As a result, Oscar Tabarez will be making at least one change for the next game. Lucas Torreira and Federico Valverde are in contention to replace the Inter Milan man, with the former likely to be given the nod against Japan.
- Tabarez is not known for tweaking his winning combination and considering Uruguay looked almost complete in their opening game, a change is not expected, except the forced one.
- A 4-4-2 formation is the likely tactics, with Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez playing up front.
Here is Uruguay’s squad for the world cup:
- Goalkeepers: Fernando Muslera, Martin Silva, Martin Campana
- Defenders: Diego Godin, Jose Maria Gimenez, Sebastian Coates, Martin Caceres, Marcelo Sarrachi
- Midfielders: Giovanni Gonzalez, Diego Laxalt, Lucas Torreira, Matias Vecino, Rodrigo Bentancur, Nahitan Nandez, Federico Valverde, Nicolas Lodeiro, Giorgian De Arrascaeta, Gaston Pereiro

Japan Team News:
- The 4-0 scoreline was not a good reflection of Japan’s display in the first game. Hajime Moriyasu were competitive and had more than one chance to get something out of the game.
- In a nutshell, Japan had a good game. But Ayase Ueda was ineffective in front of the goal and he could be the only change for the next game with Shinji Okazaki coming into the side to lead the attack.
Here is the full squad:
- Goalkeepers: Eiji Kawashima, Ryosuke Kojima, Keisuke Osako
- Defenders: Naomichi Ueda, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Tomoki Iwata, Ko Itakura, Daiki Sugioka, Teruki Hara, Daiki Suga, Yugo Tatsuta
- Midfielders: Yuta Nakayama, Gaku Shibasaki, Shoya Nakajima, Takefusa Kubo, Tatsuya Ito, Koji Miyoshi, Kota Watanabe, Hiroki Abe, Taishi Matsumoto
