An away game in the very first game, France started their European qualifying campaign with a resounding 4-1 over a hapless Moldova. Though Didier Deschamps would have preferred a perfect result with a clean sheet in the bag, the way the reigning world champions performed, it was a perfect way to start the journey.
The Les Blues uncannily struggled in the UEFA Nations League as they finished 2nd in their group behind the Netherlands. It could be a clear case of a hangover for Deschamps’ men after the incredible journey in Russia.
But against Moldova, the Les Blues were clearly in the groove as they made a little work of their opponents.

One action for the highlight reel from that match was Paul Pogba’s perfectly looped pass which Antonio Griezmann finished with a goal.
While for Iceland, it was always a case of punching above their weights ever since their incredible journey in the Euro 2016.
They made it all the way to the final, knocking England out of the competition along the way. That’s why the expectations were high from them when they made it to Russia.
But Iceland failed to win a single game in the competition and were knocked out from at the group stage.
Now the Nordic country will be aiming to secure a place in the Euro 2020 finals. For that to happen, they must finish at least 2nd in their group. France are the favorite to win the group and the only team which can stop Iceland from securing the 2nd place in Turkey.
Iceland are currently placed 2nd in the group after winning the first game 2-0 against Andorra.
