Everton will be looking to bury the ghost of the last match when they host Leicester City in the Premier League match at Goodison Park, in Liverpool, on Tuesday evening (IST).

They did win 1-5 on the Boxing day which highlighted what this can do, while in the last match the Blues got rolled by Brighton & Hove Albion.

As far as points tally is concerned, they are sitting at 10th in the table, behind the likes of Wolves, Watford and Leicester City. The poor run of results have also created clear daylight between them and sixth-placed Manchester United.

However, Manager Marko Silva’s first half of the season shouldn’t be looked down upon with any judgemental approach. His team may not have won against the top-six in that period, but it’s worth noticing that Everton have played all their big games away from home bar the Spurs match.

Also, they played decent enough to get something out of their trips to the Emirates Stadium and Anfield.

Leicester City:
The 2015-16 Premier League champions headed into the festive period with big questions hovering over the future of manager Claude Puel. In fact, the fixture list was so intimidating that many punters and betting agency slashed the odds of him making past the next few weeks. After all, the Foxes were due to face Chelsea away and Manchester City at home in those two games.

However, out of nowhere Leicester produced a moment from their title-winning season when Jami Vardy scored a fast-break goal, while they also defeated the reigning English champions 2-1 at home to ease the pressure on their manager.

But the last match brought back those notions back into the limelight that Puel’s job is still far from secure.

The Foxes lost 0-1 at home against relegation candidate Cardiff City. Also, they became the first team to lose a home game to Cardiff this season.

But Leicester are still sitting in a good position in the table, at 8th and above Everton heading into this match.
