Delhi Dynamos FC would want to forget their nightmarish last season which saw them finishing 8th on the points table. They failed in the back and as they failed in leading their attack. That led to the arrival of the Spanish coach Josep Gambau at the helm this season. The Spaniard roped in Marcos Tebar from FC Pune City, Rene Mihelic from Chennaiyin FC. Andrija Kaluderov is brought in to enhance the attacking play of the game. Their line of defense has been strengthened with the addition of Marti Crespi and Gianni Zuiverloon. Delhi Dynamos also roped in Indian stars as well to strengthen the midfield. The inclusion of Bikramjit Singh, Pradeep Mohanraj and Siam Hanghal are expected to turn things around for the hosts.

FC Pune City, on the other hand, got Miguel Angel Portugal on the helm who was previously helming Delhi Dynamos FC in the last season. FC Pune City has retained the likes of Marcelinho and Emiliano Alfaro for this season as well. They got foreign defenders Matt Mills and Martin Diaz onboard to solidify their line of defense further. The addition of Marko Stankovic will help the Marathis in controlling the game from the midfield. Indian players like Nikhil Poojari, Ashique Kuruniyan, Sarthak Golui and Sahil Panwar are all expected to take their team over the victory line in this game.

Delhi Dynamos- The Hosts endured a miserable last season as they finished at a disappointing 8th position in a league of 10 teams. However, the Dynamos did create some momentum for themselves in the 2nd phase as they went on a 6 games unbeaten streak which also included a 5-1 thumping of Mumbai City FC. While their first opponent of the 2018-19 season are FC Pune City against whom they tasted defeat only once in the last 8 encounters. So definitely the Dynamos will be looking to extend that streak against Pune in their season opener.
New Coach, New team- Delhi appointed former Spanish Player Joshep Gambau as their new head coach for this season. While the team also drafted in new players, most notably, midfielders Bikramjit Singh, and Mihelic and Spaniards Marcos Tebar and Adria Carmona to secure them the three points. In total, Delhi have added 14 new players to their rosters which include 7 Indian and 7 foreign players (Martin Crespi, Marcos Tebar, Andrija Kaluderovic, Rene Mihelic, Adria Carmona, Francisco Dorronsoro, and Gianni Zuiverloon).

FC Pune City- The visitors will be hoping to go one step further this time around after missing out on the final last season. Pune finished 4th during the league campaign but got humbled by Bengaluru FC 3-1 in the playoffs.
Team- Last season’s head coach Ranko Popovic has left the club and the former Delhi Dynamoes manager Miguel Portugal has been given the task of taking the club forward this season.
While Pune managed to secure the services of two of their star foreign players in Argentine striker Emiliano Alfaro and Brazilian winger Marcelinho wh scored a combined 17 of team’s 31 goals last season. Their summer signing Iain Hume is still recovering from an injury and thus won’t be taking any part in this game. Martin Diaz, Matt Mills and the former ATK player Ashutosh Mehta have been added to bolster the defence. Elsewhere, goalkeeper Vishal Kaith was given a contract extension and is expected to be their first choice throughout this campaign.
