After losing to England in the last game and drawing the other one against DR Congo, Nigeria’s World Cup preparations are yet to take a turn for the good. But losing 2-1 to the Three-Lions at Wembley is far from having feeling of ignominies, but the scoreline did flatter them in reality.

In the first 45 minutes, England were by far the best team on the pitch. The hosts ran the visitors ragged and cut them open on many occasions and could have been 4 or 5 goals up by the end of the 1st half. Having said that, Nigeria did enjoy some moments in the game particularly when Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi scored early in the 2nd half, giving the home team some nervy moments. Though many could argue that the Czechs are not motivated enough as they are not playing in the World Cup, but their performance in that match holds them account for that torrid show against the team which doesn’t look good for a 4-goals win.
